Pat: If FMR held onto a portion of their holdings its not because they have faith in the company nor does it indicate a vote of confidence in management. You are starting to look pathetic with your impartial dedication to this company.

The fact that FMR sold their position down to just under 5% tells me that they intend to sell the rest without having to go through the regulatory filing. This will allow them to "punish" Newbridge with strategic selling over the next few weeks, a common practice with mutual funds nowadays. A few years back, funds would dump their holdings all at once. This no longer occurs unless the company is near bankruptcy.

P.S. By the way, would you care to comment on the Ottawa Citizen article which makes the point that Newbridge is losing ground to competition and is not diversified enough to be successful. Please do not tell me that the same article said similar things about Nortel because I will view that as a copout. The fact is Nortel is making a killing on optical and Newbridge is not on its so-called hot technology -- ATM.
