Fri 15 Oct 99 News Release
Mr. Michael Anthony reports
Big Picture Technologies Inc. advises that GT Group Telecom Services Corp.,
a Canadian next-generation telecommunications service provider, has
selected a private label version of eMERCHANT pro as that company's
flagship e-commerce-in-a-box solution.
The private label offering, to be released to Group Telecom's customers by
year end, will incorporate all the features and functionality of the
company's eMERCHANT pro, but with a distinctive interface featuring Group
Telecom's corporate logo and signature style.
Steven Koles, GT Group Telecom's senior vice-president of marketing, noted
that: "eMERCHANT pro is the most versatile and comprehensive product of its
kind available today. We are delighted to be offering it to small and home
office business customers seeking a high-quality, completely bundled and
packaged e-commerce Web site solution."
Michael Anthony hailed the relationship with GT Group Telecom as a
significant first for Big Picture. To date, the company has primarily
focused on marketing eMERCHANT pro through the retail channel in the United
States. This relationship with Group Telecom opens up an entirely new,
royalty-based, revenue stream with independent service providers,
application service providers and other telecom services organizations.
Both companies share a common vision in responding to the needs of
small-to-medium-sized businesses and each has taken a completely different,
yet complimentary, route to that market. Group Telecom markets primarily
through direct sales offices across Canada, while Big Picture sales are
generated through the U.S.-based software channel.
eMERCHANT pro offers everything a small or home office business would need
to develop and launch a truly interactive e-commerce Web site in about an
hour. The product comes complete with templates to create powerful,
customized Web sites, automatic registration of domain names, back-end
facilities for secure credit card processing and full shopping cart
functionality. In addition, the product will be made available through Web
site hosting and telemarketing, enabling merchants to communicate directly
with on-line shoppers.
