I think it is the hatred and contempt for government that is at work there- they are modelling their parents contempt for people who work for the schools.state.feds. I have seen that contempt. I do not agree with it. Of course we pay the salaries- but they are not high (although they are higher by comparison in rural areas)- but those jobs are still hard work, and all work should be respected (IMO). I have taught my kids that ALL adults are deserving of respect (although they aren't actually supposed to be talking to any they don't know) but adults in school- teachers, janitors, yard duties, cafeteria workers- all should be listened too and answered respectfully and obeyed - assuming they aren't asking for inappropriate things.
