The National Post reports in its Wednesday edition that SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. has been awarded a contract by Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Co. to do the engineering and construction management for the expansion of its zinc plant in Flin Flon, Man. The capital cost of the project is about $100-million. The value to SNC was not revealed, but generally engineering, procurement and construction management contracts are 10 per cent to 15 per cent of a project's value. The project will raise the plant's production by 15 per cent to 114,000 tonnes of cast metal a year.
