Matt ---

I'm online early today, so I'll answer your questions .....
Welcome to the thread ....

BWDIK = but what do I know

contest = paper money contest to demonstrate trading methods of different folks who started off with $250k funny money and attempt to make a small pile into a large pile .... in this current contest there are 2 fields ---
Day traders (DT) who have an unlimited number of trades allowed but no overnight positions
and
Position traders (PT) who have a limit of 5 trades daily but can carry overnight

This difference is not etched in stone as "non typical" days are allowed for each type..... ex = a DT can carry overnight occasionally and a PT can exceed 5 trades per day occasionally ---

In the past these contests have proven to be very instructional for lurkers and participants ......

As an example ..... the gentlemen who held long overnight will experience some pain this morning .... and perhaps open the eyes of some who had not considered such a thing risky ...... ggggg

and Hal, a nice fellow and an excellently developing trader exemplified the danger inherent in leaving a trade "unattended" yesterday when he dropped a ton in his account when he didn't have a stop or a computer handy to get out of a positon going in the wrong direction ....

and so on ....
