Can you mix AGP with PCI in Win2000? Yes, it is my understanding that the MM features in Win 2000 are as they are in Win98. I haven't tested that, as I use dual PCI Vipers.

That brings up something I wanted to post for the thread. In NT 4.0, using the Vipers, the taskbar stretched across both monitors, and that couldn't be changed. At the time, I didn't think I liked it, as there was a lot of (I thought) wasted mouse movement going all the way over to the systray and back, etc. But with Win2000, the PNP Viper driver has changed this, to having the taskbar only within the primary monitor (which you choose through the display properties, at least with this driver). Now, however, there is no room for all of the open apps, unless I double the thickness of the taskbar. (I make extensive use of the quick launch bar, as I prefer not to clutter my desktop with icons.) My question is for anyone using Win 2000 and multi monitors who has found that they can change this taskbar behavior. My guess is that it was changed purposely, and is not adjustable, though I have not found anything definitive, either way. I am monitoring the relevant newsgroups, too.

And I agree with you on the MS site. In fact, some of their pages have crashed my browsers. It appears that some of them are under construction, as they look horrible.

Win 2000 is great. I am dual booting NT4 SP5 and Win 2000 RC2 on my trading machine and really liking it. I have mixed AGP/PCI dual monitors (Matrox Milleniums) and they work well. The MM setup is very similar to Win98. It even allows you to set which monitor, AGP or PCI, is primary and will support mixed resolutions / refresh rates.
The install went flawless, even the dual monitors. I am growing very fond of Win 2000 enhancements and interface changes. It is kind of fun to have a new OS to play with that does some neat things.

I do have one problem that I would like someone to confirm that is running Windows 2000. The java ISLD viewer, isld.com runs sporadically. It will show connected and then not display data for over a minute, and then it won't stay current, the data will stagnate without updates. I have compared it with another box running NT4 on the same connection at the same time, so I am sure it isn't a connection issue.

If anyone is using it I would appreciate knowing what you find.

Thanks
Dan
