They have a responsilbity to help smooth this over and not CAUSE it.>> Daily Conspiracy Theory: I still think (like I posted several months ago) that aside from the annual October market blues there's a reasonable possibility that what AG & Co. are doing right now relates to a certain extent to Y2K. What they do not want, even if it exacerbates the normal October pain, is a closer to year-end 1999 sell-off that the masses interpret as Year 2000 panic dumping that feeds on itself to an extent not seen before in most of our lifetimes. Better to let the air out early and in a somewhat controlled fashion. Then, again, I could be watching too much X-Files. Whaddayathink?
