hey Jim,

couldn't resist today. Bought back into QCOM with an April 170 call at end of day. The Q could only manage a 5 point drop on a day when the DJ went down 200+ points and the Naz down 75. Seems pretty strong to me.

Like you said, 9700 for Dow is nothing.

EepOpp

ps. I've got a reading of 1.05 for the put/call ratio from the CBOE. cboe.com

I've never seen it this high. Then again, i've only started looking at it this year.

JimWillie. What to do? Nothing I guess. Sitting on all my Q w/ nice gains. Dumped a chunk of 15X HD at 74 this week so there is dry powder. But, my bias is down again Monday. So, Q will stay in 90's a day or two. This is not a time for individuals to be leaders.

"MMike, with all due respect
you claimed I made a big mistake on Monday selling Qcalls
you thought with Geneva conference, QCOM onward upward"

Actually I questioned trying to time the market in regard to options on expiration week. However it is true you were correct.

However I feel the breakdowns are just starting, and we will see further downsides.

"dont forget Treasury Bonds came off their rate highs today
that is significant"

That was due to a flight to quality, not fundimental improvements. Even Larry Kudlow is now preaching that rates must rise. Though the bond might not go up it aint going down anytime soon. This market is in a rolling correction which is 2/3rd's of the way through. Unfourtunatly high fliers who have held till know are next on target. INMO that includes the Q, SUNW, MOT, etc. The reality is we are all trying to fight the tape and the fed. That is a bad Idea. I think it is irrelevent in the short to 6 month term. I think the market will close arround where it is now
on DECEMBER 31
