The last two Octobers we have been trained to expect a big drop then right after that it is time to buy. This month we may have a 5-10% drop in one day, but because of Y2K and real inflation fears there will be no immediate bounce back. Once people see it is not bouncing back, WATCH OUT! That is when people will start second guessing the market for the first time in their lives. Their retirement money has survived the last two Octobers but when they see no bounceback this year they may very well go to all cash by pressing enter on their computer keyboard. It is that easy now. When that happens a 5-10% drop will be followed by several more of the same, then we have a nice little crash going. We may never have a BK per se, the so called crash will be a lot more insidious, down 40-50% after two months, not two days.
