No. The memo is a hoax.

A brokerage in Vancouver told their traders not to short OTC stocks anymore..

This , of course, has ballooned into the theory that no one can short stocks in Canada or otc anymore.

As long as the shares are available to borrow, I can short them. I don't very often, I prefer to go long, but I have shorted before.

Maybe 1 in 10 trades is a short for me....if that much..

Also, Now the spin is that "Naked shorting in Canada is illegal"

Well....It always has been. Doesn't mean it won't happen.

Also...The other spin I have seen is that American Traders using a Canadian account to Short...same rules apply to an American. If the shares are available, then it can be done...
