If you read the CIA's report to Congress this past week
about Y2K readiness in Europe and Asia, I think you'd keep
your money very close to home.

The parts about Japan, China, Germany were particularly
alarming....and Russia, of course, goes without saying.

My company outsourced management of our 401K. We have / had about 3 dozen different choices of investments - GIC's, company stock, institutional managed funds, "public" mutual funds.

Of the 4 funds which invest primarily / exclusively in Asian markets, one closed to trading (allows NEW contributions in, only) about 5 months ago, and the other 3 will close to trading at the end of this week.

I'm either going to put some cash into those funds now, or only be able to contribute $10K max per year into them ...

Opinions welcome.
