>>We know some book buying is taking place online

Glenn - every time I go into the Borders on Union Square or the Barnes & Noble in North Beach in San Francisco, they are full of people. There is a very small outlet of Books Inc. (a small chain) four blocks from my home - from outward appearances, their business seems to be doing fine.

Of course, my observations could be affected by the fact that I live in a major metropolitan area - yet it is such areas that I believe have the highest number of internet users.
