JimWillie. Fine education on VIX was had by all this week end. I find it easy to lead off by asking dumb questions <gg>. After some cut and paste (w/ scisors) of VIX and $COMPX (NASDQ Composit) I conclude that VIX is probably not a leading indicator, but a concurrent indicator. As such its powers are not very predictive but only confirming. I am a great lover-----of leading indicators too. So I am not so much in love with VIX, but I can certainly carry on an intelligent conversation about it and glide over any superfulous claims about its predictive powers. An excellent discussion!!
