I don't propose that they did. But if we want to list the 100 most influential people of the century - we shouldn't apply subjective, unreliable blinders of specifying a "positive" influence. Mho obviously ... but I submit a motion to strike the word "contribute". Al Capone had as much or more effect on due process in this country as/thanPresident Wilson.

Of course if I had my say, there would be no entertainers on the list, period. What did Babe Ruth or Julie Andrews or Johnny Carson contribute? How did they assist in building up the edfice of our civilization? I challenge anyone to 'splain me it - but "They made us laugh" or "They made us cheer" won't satisfy me. I see no added value in that, not "on duty".
