Michael:

My Forbes arrived today, the November 1st issue. I recommend a one page article by Jeremy Grantham, entitled "DOW 3600" in which he blasts the recently touted book by Glassman, similarly named, but with one more zero.

Grantham ends the article as follows:

More likely than Dow 36,000 today is Dow 3600, requiring only a retreat to a 12.5 P/E and a 5.2% profit margin, both well above the levels of 1982, the last serious bear. Think about it.

There apparently are some sentient beings in the investment business, after all.

Best,

Jack

Mike,

Ancor just announced Q3 numbers and they beat estimates. I was wondering if you've read the release and have an opinion. Here's the URL:

biz.yahoo.com

They also have a conference call that runs to 7pm central time tomorrow. From second hand accounts(the replay won't be available for another hour or so) the cc went very well.

As you know, BRCD is still valued almost ten times that of Ancor. Have you initiated that short BRCD, long ANCR position yet? Since you last spoke of it, BRCD's float has increase from 3.5 to 9 million shares so maybe it's possible to get that short rebate now. The cc playback can be heard at: 1-800-633-8284 , reservation # 13249030. I would be interested in your take on the cc especially. Thanks ...

Craig
