Hi Paul, yes it sounds like someone should be smart enough to figure it out? Perhaps they have, the smart ones, and thats why they havent? History is a cruel teacher, General Motors bought EDS from Perot when the balance sheet read like Novells.......then couldnt get rid of EDS fast enough.........If Novell were such "deal" it would be gone.......? and that Billion cash? Havent they spent a much of it buying the stock back??? Hell. at these prices today, perhaps Novell should buy its self back and give us suckers a chance leave! On the other hand, maybe they are smart enough to outwait us and buy back in the 6-7 dollar neighborhood.............its enough to cross a Rabbi's eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!ggg Regards, Waldy

"It's a natural fit with IBM and now is the time for a move."

I think so too. The single sign on for Lotus could be worth 1 bill alone for them...

I would also agree with your advice to Scott. It depends on what he wants to do. For example, from my own perspective, today was an excellent day to sell puts. The NOv 15's were selling between 7/8 and 1. If you sell 100 contracts at worst you are forced to purchase NOVL at 14 in about 4 weeks. Otherwise you collect 10,000 for taking the risk. On purely technical terms this state of affairs should be bullish for NOVL near term. IMHO if people are willing to buy out of the money puts with such premium one must take it as a contrarian indicator...Of course selling calls could also be a good idea and 25 seems to be the magical number that the Morgan Stanley guy has in mind..selling out of the money calls in a day like this is probably not a good idea though.
