Mr Fun,

For your sake I hope LU has a great quarter. Your last post discusses LU's inside edge on this and the inside edge on that...yet SBC provided no statements as to who won or is a leading candidate for the business. You lead threaders here down a path based upon assumptions which have a good chance as being correct as being incorrect. In the past you have attempted to stick to facts and with it provided good information to the thread. I wish you would stick to that. Making assumptions about LU's ability to win business with 7r/e is a leap of faith since 7r/e is a gimmick to maintain 5ess sales and is not a true next generation product - it's a patch. Will SBC go with a patch??? They might - but to assume they will then to print it here when you know damn well there are a number of blind followers is reckless.

Cleary ALA has the inside edge on the DSLAM - they are the incumbents. CSCO and Fujitsu would be next in line. LU would be a distant 3rd.

ATM, LU has the inside edge due to Williams network? I didn't know that thier incumbency in the Williams network would operate as a positive. Given carriers are typically reluctant to install what they're competitors have I would suggest that LU's edge may not be what you think.

The fact here is that SBC has a whole host of vendors to choose from. All have some form of incumbency. We will not know who won this business until it's announced and to assume otherwise - again when you have followers listening to your every word is reckless.

OG

Mr. Fun, Thank you for the breakdown. Your numbers seem to refute the article that claims that Alcatel will nab 4.5 billion from the SBC money. Thanks for your comments from Geneva on LU as well. Brian
