>>> Any comments on the DELL issue? A well placed press release to wreck our nerves?

If you believe what Dell (with good reputation) says. the problem is very specific to memory shortage and not PC demand and is more damaging to Dell with its tight just-in-time inventory model.

Despite Dell's attempt of "offering systems with smaller memory", they must be expecting lower unit sales as well as lower ASP. Otherwise, given the commodity nature of DRAMs, how could selling more memory per PC translate to higher margins???

It will be interesting to hear what CPQ, IBM, GTW, HWP, and AAPL have to say tomorrow morning.
