X-Stream and QXL.com in Online Partnership

LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 19, 1999--

The X-Stream Network announces alliance with QXL.com

giving users access to on-line auctions

(NASD OTCBB: XSNI), The X-Stream Network, the UK's first free and third largest ISP, announces a one-year advertising and content agreement with QXL.com plc (Nasdaq:QXLC; London:QXL).

X-Stream is dedicated to increasing the services and information available to its users, so an agreement with QXL.com, itself a high-profile e-commerce company, is a significant value added offering for X-Stream users.

For QXL.com, a well established market leader in the field of e-commerce, this agreement brings the opportunity of harnessing even more visitors to its site and generating more business. Just as X-Stream was the first to bring a free Internet service to the UK, QXL.com was the first to make on-line auctions a reality.

X-Stream users will be able to access auction content within the new Auction Central site, part of X-Stream Central, X-Stream's branded portal. Access via the X-Stream site will give users the opportunity to enter a competition to celebrate this launch where they could win an Aiwa hi-fi and DVD player.

Paul Myers of X-Stream, comments, "X-Stream has nearly half a million registered users across the UK, Norway and Sweden who now benefit from our services and periodic free calls offers. QXL.com is one of the leaders in on-line auctioning so it makes perfect sense for it to partner with X-Stream, extending the content and service to X-Stream users whilst at the same time taking more business to QXL.com."

Alex Czajkowski, Marketing Director of QXL.com, adds, "We recognised X-Stream's innovative free ISP approach when they launched in March 1998. We are excited to bring our cutting-edge auction functionality to partner their leading ISP success."

Register online at www.x-stream.com and visit www.auctioncentral.com to access QXL's online auction.

Glenn,

Been watching. News hasn't hit the wires yet, at least not mine. Volume still low. Subscriber numbers haven't increased much.

Glenn, thank you for the Level 3 information. When I visited X-Stream's offices two weeks ago they confirmed their servers were at Level 3 and now we have this announcement. Great news. What a coincidence that the SELL e-mail many of us received came a day before this announcement. Thanks again, Jeff

Thanks Jeff: Great news! XSNI is now $0.06 off $2.00/share. CBC-TV in Canada had a TV Business contest among 3 of the top business school students from McGill University in Canada vs. 3 students from one of the USA's top Universities. One question in the big contest was name the first Internet service provider from the UK to introduce free Internet to the World? McGill students answered: FreeServe. The moderator said you are correct! When it was all over, McGill won by 1 point. 169 to 170 points. The Correct answer X-Stream would have changed the outcome of the game.!!
