It appears to me that it is profit taking by large holder(s). My guess is that after a split and a double they are getting rid of half their position to maintain some kind of ratio.

Downturns in semiconductor stocks also dragged down this sector. Both areas had been high fliers. Looking for a big rebound tomorrow. If not tomorrow, definately before earnings.

i think it is a combination of:
a) stock price that has grown too much faster than earnings
b) heavy selling by insiders
c) the usual October blues
d) dilution of the stock value because of several acquisitions
for stock. every time they issue stock to the holders of a Ramar, all of them come in to share the same JDSU pie we are holding.
