William, IBM's systems are far more susceptible to a y2k slowdown than LU. LU's systems don't even go live until after an extensive testing period. CNBC mentioned this morning that both Merrill and DLJ warned their customers specifically about a 1-2 quarter slowdown in IBM. This market is crazy. The chipsector got hit after Dell claimed that their margins would get squeezed due to RISING RAM costs. TXN crushed its numbers and was down almost 6 on tuesday. MSFT claims that there will be no y2k slowdown and guided analyst expectations upward on strong PC sales yesterday yet here we are today, down on the same issue. The analysts are loving this because they can guide specific sectors into buying or selling ranges on minor news or trends. All, imo. Brian
