Jeez...that sure doesn't sound like good news for Corel. But again, that is only the writers opinion. How does everyone else feel about this issue?? Will Corel be "lost" without Cowpland or can it succeed without him? Who would take over his position(s) there?

I would say this guy has an investment in Corel, doesn't mind that Cowpland has put together a string of failures, and has no idea about technology. There are way too many Cowplan sychophants out there, way too many. Cowpland is just the CEO of a tiny software company selling software products that established a customer base in the 80's. They have used the revenues to fuel one failure after another.

Could somebody write this guy and tell him that Sun offers Star Office for Linux at no charge? To claim that nobody else is developing an office suite for Linux reveals that this guy is really out of touch. There are also Java-based suites and Linux supports Java, too.

Cowpland is running on the fumes of some '80s software and chasing every bandwagon that shows up, and failing. Where is this total nonsense about him being a "genius" come from? I keep seeing that with no evidence that he's anything but a mediocre low-level manager or perhaps a tasteless, gaudy, tacky CEO of a tiny software company selling 80's leftovers.
