It shows that the attention span of those on Wall Street is less than a week, because during the Sun conference call less than a week ago, McNealy and Zander said that they were NOT seeing a slowdown due to Y2K.

I think IBM et al may be using Y2K as a whipping boy -- what will they blame their mediocre performance on NEXT quarter? I think their real problem is that Sun is kicking their collective *sses.

Or perhaps it's just easier to "lockdown" the applications IBM serves than it is to slow the expansion of the Internet.

I'm not impressed with Paine Webber.

If people aren't buying IBM hardware then they gotta be buying it somewhere else, because there's no evidence that the net is slowing down for Y2K.
