If people aren't buying IBM hardware then they gotta be buying it somewhere else, because there's no evidence that the net is slowing down for Y2K.

Right. According to CNBS, the bright spot in IBM's CC was the Netfinity Server line...smallish turnkey Intel servers out of their Personal Systems Division (is this the same division that's pulling out of the channel because they're going broke trying to sell PC's?). For some reason, they had increased sales there. Y2K lockdown missed a spot?

I think "embarrassing" is the right word when a respectable company like IBM cites Y2K as their problem. It's the excuse being given by every loser on the planet.
