Bob,

<<I am not too sure that having a Nobel prize gives one much credibility anymore !>>

Ironcially, two of the winners support the derivative plays - the other, old fashioned gold.

At the moment, neither seems to be winning.

If you can put no faith in these paragons of academia - then where does one go?

Robert,
I'll tell you what should concern a lot of goldbugs. Looks like the first shot of the effect of Y2K on corporate america when over the bow of IBM today...and the POG or the XAU didn't react positively...

Hi Bob. As I said in my PM, enjoy your posts and great web site.

<<I am not too sure that having a Nobel prize gives one much credibility anymore !>>

As opposed to what? I agree in this regard - you would never guess it by reading this thread (or would you, vbg) but adults actually believe that they can predict the future. Better yet, they get irate when their esp is challenged by another visionary. And so goes our economy. Mundell is entitled to his opinion as much as the next bloke. Me, I see Italian spaghetti in my future; somewhere around 5:00 p.m. <g>.

Hey, there can be selective credibility. I take it as a sign the world is changing.
