DSL is supposedly alot more secure than cable modems.

A cable loop is connected for the area and people share the network. People can hack into each others network. big problemo. good decision with dsl. you should have gone with a clec dsl (i.e Covad or Northpoint). The phone companies over subscribe people on their network (gte 28:1 and pac bell 35:1) which is horrible. for checking speed... www.computingcentral.com or www.2wire.com enjoy your dsl.
