News releases like this are sickening. They are tantamount to one of the oil producers making an announcement that they are increasing production, at the moment that the price of oil began to recover from there low prices earlier this year.
In the past, investors in gold lived by news releases from a company documenting either new discoveries or an expansion of an existing deposit increasing production. Maybe investor relations do not realize that times have changed.
Ironically, this past weekend, Gata indicated that there may be announcements of production cuts at the Denver meeting. There have been announcements, but not the ones that would have benefited the market. When gold slips below 300, you know it is given that the producers will be whining, "What happened, life is not fair".

Last weekend I was in Boston and the town was abuzz with the Big Dig, a huge construction project that Bean Town extolls as being the largest in the country. I think the folks in Boston should watch miners if they would like to see what a Big Dig is.
