If SI were to do this, it would be a major mistake. In addition

Hopefully professional "touts" are not a part of the "New SI". Generally anyone who posts particularly negative or positive views should disclose their positions...ESPECIALLY someone who is a paid part of the SI staff. His calls for your censure are just as ridiculous as his market calls and are a clear CONFLICT OF INTEREST.
