it's easy to manipulate the stock market...the bond market is a different matter.

Can't agree more. The market is very thin. Liquidity is not good, which is the reason swing is so big. Every day more and more stocks be taken out and shot. Hot money are chasing sectors. This time it is financials and brokerages.

Thanks HB, I intend to hold for another week or so. I hope CSCO reveals some of the underbelly of the market. If it does, my short positions will look very good. I was shocked that IBM's problems did not translate into bigger downsides for the market as MSFT's good earnings lifted all boats. But if CSCO can join in the cry, we may realize we are at a market top in the naz! Steve D.
