The new Pentium III (nee coppermine) runs fine with the BX chipset - which is now being produced in volume again (though memory speed is officially limited to 100MHZ). It works even better with the VIA PRO133A chipset, especially when run with VC133 memory. Even the 820 based motherboards have versions from Intel that use SDRAM instead of rambus.

The new Pentium IIIs do not require rambus.
