Or, it could be that everything is fine...and there are people out there looking to get the price down so they can purchase more. Happened with ORCL 2 quarters or so ago.
I'm fairly certain (with all the research I did) that no statement of that nature was made in anything but the most ambiguous of circumstances. The problem is, as some people here have noted, is that CPQ is tight-lipped. I perceive that as a good thing. They don't want ANYTHING to get out that can be perceived as non-neutral at this point.
Why? Either things are as some are saying....and are going from bad to worse (more lawsuits - which I doubt), or things are dandy, and this mgmt is looking to start anew.
I opt for the latter. It's happened in a few of my other recent investments in turnarounds.
If CPQ can't make things look good in 3 -6 months, I'm off like a prom dress. I have a sneaking suspicion the naysayers aren't as tuned in as they'd hope. Either that, or are engagingly disingenuous.

Niles speech was on the 20th, I believe, the day IBM announced. I absolutely agree with you that we know what he said and I absolutely agree with you that there is an unusually high amount of evile naked shorter bashing on the Zoo

BUT, vcall seems to be down, and I see a reference to a release by Niles on 10-22 11:00 est from RadioWallStreet.com referencing a vcall broadcast:

vcall.com

If this is correct, this is AFTER the 'IBM' statements, but the site as I said is down.

We are not alarmists, we just want to see what's cooking. the title is Dan Niles on IBM,Intel,Dell and Gateway. It may be a rebroadcast of what he has already said, but I have been unable to get to vcall

hlpninout seems to say vcall is up. I don't know.

. As I post I just got thru I am listening now it is to Emerald.

The link is functional as of right now, and yes, NIles says "Cpq news will be disasterous..."
