andrew, i am still amused at what these people are in fact buying and holding...the s and p 500...ah, but when did aol get added to this stellar index...not till this year...the bulk of the gains in aol were prior to that...are there any other net stocks even in the s and p ? is sycamore ? the wwf ? look at all the gains being missed out because of a dependence on an index fund...

i guess this is the flip side of sell to whom, ie. buy and hold what...poor paper chase, missing out on almost all the internet gains cause he was holding the bag on the s and p...

so i ask, buy and hold what ?

"So, why do you stubbornly remain here?"

Friend, bears do not have a claim on this thread! Do you understand this? Without a balance of opinion there is no objectiveness.

Also, I would ask some posters to this thread to concentrate on cleaning up their language. I know many bears are losing a great deal of money on their ill conceived market bets but that does not mean they have to swear repeatedly.

Especially for the bears, here is an ABCnews link,

"The bears gave a party and nobody attended. Nobody panicked. The stocks in those indices or in your proprietary basket don't go down. You are in disbelief..."

Go to investech.com See left hand column; click on Special Report under Visitors for a very readable article on what happens to the "Buy and Hold" strategy in a bear market. Copy and distribute to all your bagholder family and friends.

Be prepared to duck.

Plan to spend major upcoming holidays alone. <ggg>
