I would guess that you could do it by looking at the list contained on your profile or by searching the text for your name. Of course, the latter will also pull up posts to you.

The Outbox contains both Private message and Public messages. The public messages are below the private ones. At the right edge of the dark gray bar with the heading "Private Messages" there is a link that will take you directly to the public message list.
