CSCO doesn't respond to rumors according to their "spokesperson" they report in November.

The rumor starting being reported from the floors around 3:30PM Friday or shortly thereafter. If you will look at a chart of the S&P Futures for that time frame you will see a corresponding sell off.

The problem with a rumor like that one (which Cramer nailed) is that CSCO is in what is called their "quiet period" (the time from the actual end of the quarter until they actually report). The SEC prevents them from making any comments on their earnings during that time. In other words it was a "cheap shot" by some bears who are short and sweating it (IMHO). All CSCO was eventually able to say (and they may get in trouble for even saying this) was that they are sticking with the previous guidance regarding their earnings numbers. (In other words their earnings are fine). It will be interesting to see what the futures do on the globex session tonight.
