<OT> Pete Rose

Did anyone here see the interview immediately following the centuries greatest 100 players? The nbc interviewer literally cross examined Pete Rose in front of millions of viewer. It was perhaps the most distasteful act I've ever seen. Rose had just received a tremendous ovation, by far the loudest, which echoed the sentiments of most americans -- Pete Rose belongs in the Hall of Fame. The little weasel from nbc, whom I had never seen before, used the unique opportunity to delve into the unfortunate circumstances surrounding his IRS troubles from 10 years ago and his refusal to admit he bet on baseball. This was neither the place nor the time for such a discussion. Acts like this belong on Geraldo where one can choose if they want to witness such outrageous, disgusting "journalism" by not tuning in. To spring such trash on a worldwide audience enjoying a tremendous moment exceeds all bounds of decency and reasonableness. Pete Rose showed amazing restraint, I wanted to choke the son of a bitch, I can only imagine how he felt. I'm sorry for venting here, but that completely blew my mind. Did anyone else catch the interview?

Re: "But remember, AMDs business plan is to achieve a 30% market share - where Intel, with close to a dozen FABs to support, needs to completely dominate the market. What's the cost of the two platforms? What's the current availability?"

Ahhhh... How gratifying it is to see you guys scrambling for excusses. AMD doesn't have a business paln, don't you know that by now? The only plan they have is do anything they have to do to hurt Intel... Sell of any division, delay any payments, borrow as much as you can, cut any price, destroy anything you have to, just GET Intel.

Re: "There's a fresh version of the compiler for coppermine. Not that there's anything wrong with that :-). And if the guys who updated that compiler are any good, it's been optimized for coppermine - again, not that there's anything wrong with that. "

Dan, you're ignoring all the industry standard benchmarks that showed Coppermine beating the Athlon. Those have nothing to do with Intel's compiler.

Coppermine... Fastest X86 Processor in the Universe......

Athlon... Fastest X86 Processor by a company who never made a penney on any of their own processor designs....EVER....
