Yup, an Athlon 700 system will BLOW AWAY a Coppermine 733/i820/DRDRAM system in Price/Performance.

Ain't no countering that.

And to think, the Athlon will ONLY get FASTER!

Petz - Re: "At IBM's RDRAM prices, why would anyone want it?
IBM Memory: 64MB, 128MB and 256MB ECC RAMBUS RIMMs - prices starting at $405
So, $810 for a minimum configuration of 128M
IBM Memory: 64MB, 128MB, 256MB and 512MB non-parity and ECC SDRAM DIMMs -- prices starting at $109
SDRAM ~= 1/4th the price"

Simple, Petz, so simple I'm surprised YOU couldn't figure it out !

When people want - or need - the FASTEST SYSTEM available, they expect to pay a premium price.

And the KNOW that they will RECOUP that small dollar premium INVESTMENT by IMPROVED PERFORMANCE, faster system processing, shorter design cycles, and FASTER TIME TO MARKET for new designs.

Of course, such concepts may be foreign to you and the average AMDroid - who is only interested in Cheap Thrills in killing Alien Mutant Blasting Game shoot-em-ups !
