Rambi,

I shut it down right after the close today.. Took a nap.. because I was up early.. Went for a run and just logged on and noticed the 200 or so posts on feelies,, checked the last ones and found out she was busted..

She came to my defense once.. We all screw up and shudder the next morning after tussling with "cracklin rosie" .At least I think that is what happened ..but trust to me is a very important issue. I realize SHE IS fully aware of that SO that's why I want her back.

I wonder if SI considers the track record of a member before meting out sentences. To me it makes sense: if a person who has been a consistently intelligent and valuable contributor (which Cobalt certainly was) and happens to slip up and do a nasty in a moment of temper (an easy thing to do), I would certainly prefer to see a suspension and a stern warning, as opposed to outright termination. Given the number of individuals on SI that constantly post trash just barely short of transgressing the terms of use, it seems only fair to consider the contributions an individual has made, and to consider the positive while assessing the negative.

Certainly I would want SI to reinstate Cobalt, and I will PM SI Bob - for the first time, and I hope the last - to request that. I've a sneaking fear, though, that all our requests will do no good. It is not, after all, a democratic community; we do not get to vote on these matters.

One more good reason to stay off SI for a while, which I've been doing anyway, and will continue to do for the forseeable future. I'm not sure if it's not what it used to be or I'm not what I used to be, but for whatever reason, I'd prefer to be elsewhere these days.
