I can't help but interpret Cisco news as an attempt to stop Qualcomm from having the wireless standard.

don't get so nervous. cisco's new technology is more of worry for the cable internet providers, the dsl providers, the isdn providers, the standard phone line internet providers. qcom is a mobile technology that can be used for wireless home use in the future. the principle purpose is mobile.
did anyone realy think qcom would be the only company to have home wireless internet.
just like they are not the only cellular technology.
in the end qcom will dominate the mobile data market and will get it's fair share of the home wireless market.
also if cisco's technology is so great, why are they giving it away?
