jdsu is having an incredible run. I think it is due to a significant degree to avoidance of punative taxes on the part of our Canadian contingent. I'm not sure how long this driving factor will last, so I'm cautious about jdsu's ongoing valuation growth rate.

Poet,

re "And while not yet an agreed-upon Gorilla, have you seen JDSU? Very very strong going into earnings."

ssssssshhhhhhh! <GGG>

1. JDSU is a King, not a Gorilla.

2. Uncle Franq had a very bad experience with King DELL, and it has turned him off Royalty forever. <g>

3. Merlin invests so much time on his existing areas of research that he has not been able to venture into the optoelectronics sector and satisfy himself about JDSU's potential.

4. Lindy is a diehard Q-Tip, and if he ever leaves it will be to go back to Mr. Softee after the settlement.

5. That leaves people like Cha2, BB, and myself to cheerlead for JDSU around here. (Think we picked up Apollo recently, if I'm not mistaken!) But since so many of the thread elders are not riding this glorious uptrend, it might be impolite to rub their noses in it... <grinning madly>

6. Best place for serious JDSU discussion is over on the Fool's JDSU thread. Begin with the JDSU FAQ at the top, and read anything by "ndenga" (IMHO, in the tradition of NY Stew for Gemstar, Greg Powers for Qualcomm, etc.).
