Thanks, tekboy.

I like everything about your JDSU post but the signoff. That "sure is a nice day" phrase kinda gives me the creeps.

Long live JDSU.

tekboy, I am pleased to say that I jumped on JDSU as a result of UNPH discussion here some time ago and have been re-enforcing this winner all along.

JDSU is a King, with the market dominance, growth, and margins that come with the throne. FranQ made a mint on his Dell King, so he has nothing to complain about <g>. I hold it lightly, but I hold it proudly!

5. That leaves people like Cha2, BB, and myself to cheerlead for JDSU around here. (Think we picked up Apollo recently, if I'm not mistaken!) But since so many of the thread elders are not riding this glorious uptrend, it might be impolite to rub their noses in it... <grinning madly>

I simply consider JDS Uniphase as a value chain 'pick and shovel stock' thanks to the Gorilla we call the Internet. We know that is one Gorilla that is not going to let us down for quite some time. I bought last year when it was just called Uniphase and tucked the shares away for the long term. It's one of the few Royalty plays under the Gorilla of the Internet that I'm willing to keep for a few years.

I won't cheer for it here as we all have our own objectives with investing in terms of Gorillas and Kings. If I did, one could easily remind me of my bold move into eBay last week for a grand total of 40 shares (talk about dipping one's toe in the bath water) and how that Godzilla Game is going to test my peanut and beer money. After my big one week gain, I'm back to my cost basis thanks to after hours post earnings shaving 12 points off of the price.

i2, whether one calls it part of our game or not, received a price target adjustment to $80+ today by Credit Suisse First Boston. Shares closed at an all time high of 71 1/2 on twice the average volume. Certainly a nice move from the 52 week low of 16.

I think there are a lot of closet UNPH/JDSU followers here, tekboy. I owe my entrance to George Gilder a long ways back.

I am sure you noticed the gangbuster earnings report from rival SDLI and customers LU and NT. The street is expecting big things from JDSU and will not want to be disappointed.

Fiberoptics or wireless...which is the hottest sector?
