FC_Fan,

Don't think you have posted in a while. I posted a message to you in August that you may not have seen. Can you help me out?

Thank you,
Greg

FC_Fan,

I am interested in learning more about FC switching products. Usually with competing products, the different design approaches result in different performance/benefits for a particular application. You have stated that you have a personal preference for Brocade switches. Is this preference universal or are there applications where you would prefer to use an Ancor switch. If so, why? If not, why not?

It has been my experience that disinterested engineers will use different products for different applications to take advantage of the relative strengths of each product. The exception to this approach is if there is a high learning curve to use each product optimally, and it isn't worth the engineer's time to learn both.

Can you think of any applications where you would select an Ancor switch instead of a Brocade switch?

Greg

<This is the first PUBLICLY available, in-depth analysis, of the currently available 8 Port FC switches from three companies>

Ancor is releasing its next generation switch in 2 weeks,
or less.

What is the point of having an evaluation of Ancor's last
year product 2 weeks before the public release of its new product,
which has been shipping to Ancor customers for some time.

Is it because most of the investors reading the information
on this thread, or on Yahoo cannot tell the difference?

AJ, do you post on your own or does Mr T sanction your participation on an internet stock board? I bet you can hardly wait for that lock-up period to end in November, huh?
It's too bad that the SEC's internet cop went to work for the Motley Fools..i wonder if he's been replaced yet..hmmm..

PS - I trust you remember what happened to that Pairgain engineer who "got caught". I hear he's now working for somebody else as a "Solutioneer".
