cpq, lu, ebay all beat their estimates today. in fact, it seems like just about everybody is making more money than expected.

so why are futures down 13 points?

are people really out there dumping stocks en masse and buying up bonds? isn't it a little crazy? did msft actually go down 1/16th today? what are people thinking?

i for one do not believe msft will sell off at all when jackson makes his announcement.

I am "betting" on that. I expect it to rally on the news. In addition other forces will help push it higher---DOW addition, positive outlook, Windows2k. I would also add that they are probably continueing with their share buybacks on the open market and that the stock is on course for a split following the January earnings report. The price moves seem to indicate this---stock getting to about 120 or so and then splitting in january. yea, i am bullish on this one!!
I can't imagine it any lower.

good luck.

The worst case is if the judge rules against MSFT , the stock price will go side way for couple of days and then steadily move up . If the Judge rules in favor of Microsoft , the stock price will shoot up
immediately. So people have nothing to loose if they buy now , but will catch up the opportunity when Microsoft moves up. The stock price had gone sideway for more than six months, and the possibility of the judge rules against MSFT has been built into the stock price. Once the judge rules, no matter against or in favor of Microsoft, the price will move up, either shoot up or up steadily depending on the rulling, because all the uncertainity is gone after the ruling, and the decision of the appeal court will be years away, and at that time
, the current case will mean nothing at all to Microsoft , then !!!!

So, again, after the ruling, business as usual for Microsoft !!!!
