Gersh,

OK .. way way way OT ..

>>A question would be "Will you remember any of the trip, since your neurons went backward also?"<<

Good question... we would have to ask a space neurologist that question, although I'd have to guess the answer is no because your neurons did not go backwards also... the only thing that reversed was the element of time... our physiological processes and metabolic functions would probably continue to work forward...

To justify my answer and take your line of reasoning a bit further, then the space craft itself would also have to disassemble into its component parts the way it was broken down at the factory and we also would age regress... I don't think that's part of the equation for time regression since we are separate entities from the element of time itself.. albeit that we move through time.....

Re: Time

All objects and events in our universe are defined in space and time.
Assuming the universe was created, one of the inevitable conclusions is that Time itself (an attribute of our universe) was created.
Then one have to conclude that the creation of the universe was not in time. The next logical step is to conclude that the universe was created as one from its beginning to its end in time. This is totally deterministic approach, one with which the monotheistic religions had many problems when they tried to circle around it.

OTOH,
Assuming the universe was not created, one has to conclude that time is endless in both directions.
Now, that leads to a big question - why is time unidirectional? Or why are we directional in time?

Physics is our logical way of explaining the universe to ourselves. The laws of physics describe how things happen (not why), and can predict in a given set of circumstances what will happen next.
Newton's laws gave a good description of the universe until Einstein found a better mathematical representation of the way things behave in our universe. One that gave accurate predictions where Newton's laws failed to do so.
According to Einstein's equations, Mass cannot reach C because it would need infinite thrust to do so.
Worse - Two objects that travel in opposite directions and seen from a third objects in their path as approaching from each side at the speed of 0.75C, an observer on each of the two objects will observe the respective speed between them as less then C.
Worse - If on one of said objects the observer lights a flashlight towards another, all observers will see the light traveling at C.

I could carry on for a week... is there a philosophy thread around?
