No Teflon, actually the discussion was exactly about adding MSFT to the DOW in spite of its NASDAQ membership, and it began six months ago. BTW, the author of the original article also called for Intel to be added to the DJIA. Tonyt started it with a Barrons articleMessage 8693816 >Here's the Barron's story: Time for a Change? By Jay Palmer When the Dow Jones Industrial Average finally closed above the 10,000 level for the first time ever, a horde of pundits were inspired to issue all sorts of pronouncements about what levels the mighty Dow could reach in years and decades to come. Since it has surpassed by such a large margin, you would think there would now be serious consideration----i bet they have been pondering this for a year or so. I think now they could be seriously considering it.< I jumped on Tech2000...Message 8700874 >I just don't see any reason to add MSFT to the DJ... The Dow represents what it represents; 30 industrial corporations. Would the purpose of adding MSFT be to make it go up faster? Why? <snip><
