i love it when rmbs opens down.. rmbs' current short position... Short Interest October Company------------10/15/99----------9/15/99 RAMBUS INC ----7,726,843--------5,714,448 the vc820 motherboard which only uses rambus can be purchased here. i believe this just went up for sale last night. onsale.com the 840 motherboard for rmbs workstations was released monday...this is a niche market and did not impress me. the vc820 addresses the bigger, primary pc market. the 810e motherboard was released to go with coppermine it does not use rambus. i believe dell, cpq and gateway are not using the 810e...they are waiting for the vc820. cpq announced a 5 year $20 billion dollar deal to buy memory from micron...micron is sampling rdrams now...cpq has already announced rmbs in workstations and future servers and pc's. micron ceo recently declared rambus rdram the most exciting new product micron ever had. the implication here is micron is in rdram production and micron pc's will use rdram too. micron's dram production is expected to overtake samsung. intel has a conference call tomorrow. what will they announce? the implications are clear to me...i see this: the 840 is ok, the vc820 is about to be released, dell, cpq and gateway expect the vc820 shortly. the short position is enormous...when intel announces the vc820, rmbs could go up 20+ points. uncle eddy had a target price of $150 the day of the delay. i expect to hear from him as soon as intel announces camino. i just bought more rmbs this morning. unclewest@buyingrmbsondips.com
