Up with the Saints!

Hear Hear! (Or is it here here?)

Oh yeah, I am not anti-saint. I thought the topic of the thread was who influenced the 20th century the most. Saints of this century have been an inspiration to millions on an individual level, but I question their influence in worldly events.

I like your list. I would add Edith Stein and Maximillian Kolbe. Is the Dalai Lama really a reactionary? Wow, neat.

Which saints do you want? Holy people who accomplished something or the bureaucrats who come up through the R.C. process. Who says a saint has to be totally sinless? Give me one who was. St. Peter, after all, denied Jesus three times in a single night. Ghandi liked to warm his aging bones by sleeping with young girls.
