Don - "not the one to make that big strong call" - probably wise. When I've lost money it's usually been because I've been too sure I was right.

Speaking of market psychology, I get the impression that to some extent "the bears are dead" (to quote that article Les posted), in the sense that the mood of this thread has shifted from July-August when it was popular to call for a big collapse, to now when many expect the worst to be over soon, at least for this year. Why? We're still in a downtrend, internals continue to worsen, valuations are still higher than ever before in history, we're at the peak of the business cycle, and the more time we spend not going up, the more momentum we lose. Furthermore the Fed's not going to bail us out this time, because the world economy is stable. And Santa Claus is supposed to save us?

I probably seem like the ultimate bear because I've been bearish since I started posting on this thread, but actually I was bullish before that, and I only got interested in MDA because I became concerned the market was about to change direction (downwards) in a big way.
