Morning folks ..

lotsa folks sending me PM's with the question "what happened?"

Tough question, as I wasn't keeping notes ..

One item was that there are two different types of patterns
that take place that can show triggers. One is range bound
and the other is a run mode.

My run mode indicators were what I was trading at first.
However when the pattern shifted to range mode these
indicators would flip back and forth very quickly and
trading them would result in large vig losses.

Trying to find the range trading method, I lost sight of the
run triggers.

I now have the triggers needed for both methods .. now the job
is to determine what is required to trigger the shift
between the two methods. I believe that I'm very close.

The period of time where I ran from 200k to 600k was an example
of time where I was using the run triggers.

A nice set of examples of range trades yesterday was:

post number
39439 12:11PM new limit SAR to be long @ 1340.5 ...
39442 12:16PM now long at 1340.5 new limit SAR to be short @ 1343.75 ...
39448 12:43PM now short at 1342 new SAR limit to be long @ 1340.5 ...
39449 12:49PM now long at 1340.5 new SAR limit to be short @ 1342 ...
39452 12:57PM cancel limit .. run mode ...
39454 1:00PM now short at 1342 new SAR limit to be long @ 1340.5 ...
39458 1:12PM cancel limits stay short ...
39459 1:20PM still short at 1342 new SAR limit to be long @ 1341 ...
39463 1:26PM now long at 1341 new limit SAR to be short @ 1342.75 ...
39465 1:27PM still long at 1341 new limit SAR to be short @ 1342 ...
39466 1:29PM now short at 1342 new SAR limit to be long @ 1340.5 ...

There have been several "nice" runs like that over the last
few days .. however .. this new method didn't take advantage of the hard runs being set up.

FWIW the software that I'm building puts out a web page.
That page automatically updates itself every fifteen
seconds.

The address of the page changes every time that I log off and back on to my ISP.

If you wish to be able to keep an eye on what this project
of mine is doing click on the link to my main page and send
me a e-mail note. In the near future, I'll be sending out
the current address by e-mail to those who wish to receive
it. This page is also a fluid address.

re fluid address .. I wish to keep it that way .. any time
that I determine that my page is being used for fade trades
I'll reboot and leave the faders in the dust.

At this moment the page address is: 199.179.189.184

David : thank you very much with putting up with my experimental
trading method and for all the record keeping. I'll probably
start a new thread to do the testing of automatic posts. If
and when I do I'll let you folks know.
