Thomas,

What I do not like is continuations or sequels as it takes away from the completeness of the original 50 words.

You may have started the thread, and you are most definitely entitled to your opinions, but I find your statement above to be a direct commentary to myself and others on the thread who have really enjoyed writing the 'sequel' style stories. I've just been having fun and don't take the writing aspect of it too seriously at all.

I never understood your motivation in the post to me that I've linked below either, however I believe that it was intended as some sort of jab. You confirmed this for me as you may recall that I pmailed you for clarification. You said you were just being like your old English teacher or something to that effect... and I blew it off as an attempt at humor though I felt it was unkind and still do.

Counting words in a post is one thing given the thread title mandating 50 words or less but I feel that it's very impolite to remark on someone's writing style in a negative way on a thread of this nature. This could discourage people from being imaginative and creative and likely makes contributors fearful of joining the fun out of concern that their style may be up for scrutiny. If any comments are to be made publicly, I would have hoped that they would be encouragement and praise for the author and not of a critical nature.

Personally, I don't care to participate any longer given that you find posts like mine and others' (sequels) to take away from your thread. It is actually more difficult *for me* to work in underlining themes and carry that current forward in interesting and even unexpected ways. I have been delighted by the twists that our sequels have taken and am taken aback to learn that you find them to detract from the original storyline.

Lastly, I have noted a change in many threads lately where people have seemed to be more disrespectful, rude, impolite, and generally careless with others and their feelings for no apparent reason. This bothers and saddens me greatly.

I do not intend for my comments to be an attack on you whatsoever. I simply wanted to tell you what was on my mind. But for now, I will seek out that Treasure Box of mine and acquiesce to the sensations of the satiny ribbon as it glides to and fro between my thumb and index finger. Soon, the mesmerizing scent of the withered rose will make everything right for me once again... <g>

Bread And Pasta 50 words exactly category.

"Poison by the loaf." and "How to die quicker with less energy and fatter than you might have," He thought when he saw the call for stories about bread and pasta.

"Who wants to write about bread and pasta anyway?"

"Certainly NOT ME!"

He said, missing Alfredo sauce the most.

Linguine…

dripping with clam sauce. And garlic rolls. No! Cottage cheese and chocolate milk! Wait! Maybe salted watermelon instead.

Growing deep in my belly--no larger than a grain of rice--my new companion tells me what we want to eat. All I can do is obey and hope no one notices.
