CREDIT SUISSE FIRST BOSTON CORPORATION Globalstar (GSTRF, $21.38, BUY) Target (12 Months): $32 Update-Slower Expectations On Handsets, But Doesn't Really Change Our Valuation Loral reported third quarter earnings yesterday and held a conference call where Chairman and CEO, Bernard Schwartz, spoke about Globalstar. There seem to be some delays with obtaining the number of handsets the company had originally expected for this year. Additionally, there were questions on the call about whether the company could make forecasts indicated for next year in terms of revenue and unit growth based on lower handset availability. While the handset situation is something to be monitored, and we think it is prudent to take down our forecasts for next year somewhat, the overall valuation really does not change. Although we recognize that investors are going to be concerned about market demand here until some real numbers emerge, we believe there is good upside in the stock at these levels, and we would invite investors to join us on November 10, 1999 for a dinner with Chairman and CEO Bernard Schwartz for an update. regards, ivy Message: 15634 of 15635.
